The Great Harvest bakers are focused on sweet treats for area loved ones in preparation for Valentine’s Day. During the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day, stop by the bakery at 250 N. Main St.,  to taste the love and stock up on gifts for your special someone or family.  The bakery will be preparing special chocolate breads, sweets, and themed gifts including White Chocolate Cherry Swirl bread, Chocolate Cherry Batter bread, Delicious Rice Crispy treats, individual or six packs of sugar cookies, and large heart-shaped sugar cookies that can be personalized.  To guarantee your special gifts for Valentine’s Day, be sure to place orders by February 13th at noon by calling the bakery at 208-234-2108.

This week at Portneuf Valley Brewing:  The kitchen is planning specials including handmade chocolate truffles for the holiday. Then save the date for the ISU Jazz Band concert Wednesday, Feb. 15th, from  7pm – 9pm in The Loft.  How cool is it that you can have PVB deliver a pizza and a growler of your favorite beer?  Call 208-232-1644 for delivery.  On-line ordering is coming soon!

The American Legion is also hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, February 17, at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building.  They will be serving from 5 pm to 8 pm.  The cost is $7.00 per person and $3.50 for children under age 12.  All proceeds go to supporting the plans and programs of the American Legion, Pocatello Post 4. The public is invited.  And finally, the American Legion Riders are holding their 8th Annual Winter Swap Meet and Chili Feed on Saturday, February 25th, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building. Chili will be served from 11 am to 2 pm.  The public is invited.

The 7th Annual Gate City Brewfest will be returning to Old Town Pocatello on Saturday, March 11. From 1pm to 6pm, sample 70+ handcrafted beers, enjoy great food and live entertainment at the Old Town restaurants, pubs and bars. Tickets are now available at www.gatecitybrewfest.com .  Get your tickets and don’t miss Pocatello’s largest beer festival.

Registration is now open!  Pocatello’s premier 5K obstacle race will be returning to Old Town Pocatello on Saturday, April 29th.  Plan now to compete as SEICAA and Old Town host the 5th Annual Urban Invasion Obstacle Challenge. This four person team race is sponsored by ERA The Brokerage and Guild Mortgage.  Grab your three most adventure seeking friends and register your team to compete east to west through Old Town.  Along the course, encounter 20 crazy obstacles built by local businesses and organizations.  Registration is now open at raceentry.com.  Come join the fun and support SEICAA’s emergency services programs.
