A Pocatello judge has been honored by the City of Pocatello Human Relations Advisory Committee.

At Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, the group presented Magistrate Judge Rick Carnaroli with its Human and Civil Rights Award. The accolade recognizes a citizen who has worked to help protect and advance human and civil rights of Pocatello residents, as well as other criteria.

“Judge Carnaroli consistently demonstrates a measured level of compassion for those who enter his courtroom,” said Jamar Brown, chair of the Human Relations Advisory Committee. “Whether it is someone battling the demons of addiction or a veteran suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Judge Carnaroli offers guidance, care, and most importantly, a chance to change their life for the better.”

Previously, Carnaroli has been honored by the Idaho State Bar with the organization’s Service Award.
